Avoiding the Pitfalls in Network
Marketing 1. Going For the Product... Not the Plan: In the long term...
it's quality products, management of the company and results of the products
that make this business work. Networkers that focus their attention on
"magic”, “sizzle" or "never seen before" compensation plans will usually find
that they have been seduced over hype. Hype doesn't last long term... but
product results will.
2. $$$$ Expectations: Realistic expectations
or goals for the new distributor should be in the area of an extra $400 or $500
per month as additional income to their permanent job. As their organization
grows... becoming a full-timer may become a reality (in 1 to 2 years).
Most often, a distributor believing he/she will become rich overnight... will
fall short. This is a business that takes time to develop.

3. Easy
Money: Quite often a recruitment pitch is this: "easy money."
Experienced marketers can tell you that this is not an easy money
game. It is not a recruiting game. It is not a game at all.
Distributors who are successful know their product, know their customers and are
prepared to do what is necessary to be successful... it takes some hard work.
A distributor whose mind-set is on laying down a "foundation" to build a
profitable organization... rather than looking for easy money will be around a
lot longer.
4. Don't Think Short Term: Distributors that expect
short-term success might prepare themselves for failure. Realistically, a
distributor should not expect to see exceptional profits until at least six
months into the business. Those who have truly achieved success have been
at it long term. Give yourself some time to develop a nice size organization and
commission check.
5. Don't be an MLM Junkie: There are very few
distributors that have the ability to work multiple programs at the same time...
successfully. Most distributors are part-timers to begin with and should

network marketing profitable. "You snooze, you lose" is very

business. Inactivity = unfulfilled expectations.
